Honest review!
Oh shit yes! It's about to get schwifty in here!
@Gatsu How do you remember it? Because all I remember is the outrage from the character switch. A lot of it.
@Heavenly King The medic? A medic was the best soldier from mother base? This is the first time I am hearing about this. Where is that referenced in the MGS lore? And even if that is so. What about the second best? A little hypnosis and bam! 3 BB's! Hell, I've got quite a few S++ soldiers on my base right now. I could make an army of BB's.
The open world gameplay in MGSV was best when you didn't explore it. It is a great way to start an infiltration into a base from any point. But out side of that base is bland and empty. Try spending any amount of time away from the large bases and you'll be bored out of your skullface.
So if there is no gameplay out in the open world, I don't see how it can have great open world gameplay. It is just something you have to travel across to get to the actual gamepla...
You may like the gameplay in MGSV better. Heck, I do too! But, the open world aspect of it was lacking.
Afghanistan is basically just large corridors because half of the map is covered in large unreachable mountains. Africa just replaces the mountains with wide open and empty plains. All there is out there are some small outpost with 4 soldiers every now and then. The open world in MGSV was dead. There is literally nothing out there but some animals to fulton back.

Yup, just disagree and run away...
That quote made me do a double take. The first thing that comes to mind is that the Witcher 3 did open world better. Much better.
MGS2 complaints were completely different than the ones here. Everyone was pissed at the character switch with raiden. I personally had no problems with the switch and liked the idea of helping snake with his mission at big shell. Raiden had his own story and character development. The end when you team up is just pure epicness.
In MGSV there are many, many more than just the character switch. And this BB switch was not only unwanted, but makes the whole game feel like it mi...
Ok, that made me laugh! Bubs up!
I love/hate this game so much. The gameplay is amazing and the freedom to achieve your objectives is massive, but the open world is lacking and the story makes me want to punch kittens. Where the boss battles? Why was BB in that hospital with his doppelganger when he was created to keep the heat of of BB? Why would the man on fire go after BB's stand in and not BB himself? Wouldn't psycho mantis and the man on fire known the difference?
All the games in the MGS series...
Continues to wait...
Your fine with not being able to do anything with the FOBs? I really want to expand, invade, and defend. But konami can't get their servers together and now I am starting to worry about MGO. :(
I can't even do anything with anything related to my FOB. I would call Konami's servers terrible, but I'm not even sure they exist.
This is very disappointing and I fear for my beloved MGO. :(
V has finally [DISCONNECTED FORM SERVER]
This guy gets it! lol
@HaveSumNuts
Exactly! THANK YOU! Well said.
@abzdiine
What?? I mean, duh, a lot of big corps manufacture over seas in sweatshops, but what's your point? HaveSumNuts makes a valid and clear point about hypocrisy. You think he was... joking or what?
Castlevania: Erotic Violence?!
o_O?!
The what the fuh...??
Just pop it open and replace the battery, man!
I always loved the documentary style cutscenes where they analyze equipment, alternate history, and back story. Absolutely love it! But that awkward love scene BS with Otacan, Meryl falling for shit boy, and watching Sunny's eggs was just boring as hell. I wouldn't mind the long cutscenes if they keep the campy Full House fluff out of them.
Only 11 days left!
The game always feels like it's just getting started. Then it ends...
